"Braefoot Cottage" was built in 1741 and completely refurbished over recent years to an exceptionally high standard. On the ground floor there is, a large living room with wood burning stove, ample seating and a dining room table and chairs. The fully equipped kitchen has a hob, extractor, dish-washer, oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. The luxury bathroom is also on the ground floor, it has a full bath with over bath shower. The bathroom also houses the washing machine and tumble drier. There is a single bedroom on the ground floor with ample room to accommodate a travel cot, should it be required. On the first floor there is a double bedroom and a single bedroom with a 3/4 bed.
"Braefoot" is available all year round for any length of stay from mid week breaks to long weekends or 1 and 2 week holidays. All linen, heating and electricity is included. In addition to the log burning stove the cottage has heating throughout, there is under floor heating in the kitchen and bathroom. The cottage is so highly insulated there is little need for any additonal heating other than the stove. There is little need for heating in the summer at all even though the cottage is at 1450ft above sea level high up in the Southern Uplands, yet easily accessible to the motorway network with junction 13 Southbound and junction 14 Northbound of the M74 being only 6 miles away. Glasgow, Edinburgh and Carlisle are less than an hours drive.
